December Light, Terrington Available I had the place entirely

I had the place entirely to myself

and violets in the landscape

The expressive brushwork reflects the crisp stillness of the season

past hedgerows and beneath the broad canopy of the main tree

There's a magical time in Spring when the tree canopies emerge with lush fresh growth and the light is bright and clear as the sun moves north

December Light, Terrington Available I had the place entirelyPainted en plein air on a crisp December afternoon, The Quiet Field captures a view near Terrington that Ive returned to many times over the years. This time, I had the place entirely to myself, just the soft sound of wind in the hedgerows and the squelch of my boots in the mud! Theres something grounding about painting a place you know well; it allows you to notice the quieter moments. This was one of them. Oil on canvas panel Painting size: 30 40
